The Gift of Sight
One of the reasons that I believe I excel in racing is that I have perfect vision. It enables me to react in the split second that exists in which to make a decision. I rely on this more than on anything else.
In the latter half of 2008, I had the opportunity to help a fan get an eye exam and two pairs of glasses that were long overdue. That fan became a pretty good friend of mine We play pick up games of basketball and he’s part of the race team now, as well. I saw how the glasses improved not only his vision, but also his self-confidence.
This inspired me to partner with a local vision center willing to charge less for the exam and glasses for people introduced through my “Gift of Sight” program. It’s a great opportunity to help people who might otherwise not be able to afford it, get the vision correction that they need.
